Let us update you on our recent activities and the well-being of our bees. During the winter months, beekeeping activities are limited, primarily involving occasional check-ins and ensuring the colonies have enough feed to survive the season.
We've been conducting thorough checks to confirm that our colonies have ample food, monitoring the queen's egg-laying activity to ensure the presence of future brood and the colony's sustained vitality.
Encouragingly, all three hives and one nucleus box from a summer split are thriving. Winter poses challenges for beekeepers, with potential risks to colony health, resources, and stores, including pests and diseases. Thankfully, our bees are not just surviving but thriving.
In addition to our beekeeping efforts, we've been busy crafting new candles and venturing into soap-making. While we're still fine-tuning cosmetics before their release, we're excited to announce that our new candle range will be available soon.

Our commitment extends beyond the apiary, as we're actively involved in planning for Cowran Estate. Our initiatives focus on landscaping and conservation, aiming to develop and enhance areas for bees, the environment, and other wildlife.

For those interested, we'll be participating in an event at Ford Park in Ulverston. Join Joe Lydon from the South Lakes Honey Company for a Slide and Supper Evening on Friday, 1st March, at 7 pm.
