Our cosmetics

This is such an exciting chapter in our journey and we have been wanting to share a little more on the journey so far

As we prepare for winter markets and the festive season we are creating many new products along the way including our Christmas themed scented beeswax candles.

We had the idea of wanting to create cosmetics since discovering the many uses of honey and beeswax and all its health benefits when we began our beekeeping journey.

Why honey and beeswax ?

šŸ Honey in Cosmetics

Humectant (Draws in Moisture)

• Honey naturally attracts and retains water from the air, helping to keep skin hydrated.

• It prevents dryness and gives products like moisturisers and lip balms a long-lasting, softening effect.

Antibacterial and Healing

• Raw honey contains enzymes and hydrogen peroxide that help fight bacteria, making it great for acne-prone or irritated skin.

• It promotes wound healing and tissue repair, which is why it’s sometimes used in medical-grade wound dressings.

Anti-inflammatory and Soothing

• Honey calms redness and inflammation, helping to balance sensitive or inflamed skin.

Nutrient-Rich

• Packed with vitamins (especially B vitamins), amino acids, and antioxidants that nourish the skin barrier and promote a healthy glow.

Emollient and Softening

• It smooths the skin’s surface and works synergistically with oils and waxes to seal in moisture.

šŸ•Æļø Beeswax in Cosmetics

Natural Barrier Without Suffocation

• Beeswax forms a breathable layer on the skin that protects against environmental damage and water loss while still allowing the skin to breathe.

Thickener and Stabiliser

• It gives structure and firmness to balms, creams, and butters — allowing natural oils and butters to blend smoothly and stay stable.

Emollient and Conditioning

• Beeswax softens and soothes dry or chapped skin, making it ideal for hand balms, lip care, and body butters.

Anti-inflammatory and Antibacterial

• It helps calm irritated skin and can protect minor cuts or scrapes from infection.

Vitamin A Content

• Beeswax naturally contains a small amount of vitamin A, which supports cell regeneration and healthy skin tone.

🌿 How They Work With Natural Oils

When you blend honey and beeswax with oils like olive, coconut, castor, jojoba, or tallow, the combination mimics the skin’s natural protective barrier:

• Oils provide deep nourishment and lipid replenishment.

• Beeswax locks that moisture in and adds protection.

• Honey hydrates and heals from within.

Together, they create a balanced formula that:

• Hydrates (honey)

• Nourishes (oils)

• Protects (beeswax)

That’s why this trio forms the backbone of many natural balms, salves, moisturisers, and lip products — they’re gentle, effective, and completely free of synthetic fillers.

Our passion is to create a feel good experience towards sustainable hand made products that can be enjoyed by our customers.

As we are awaiting our final safety reports we can’t wait to realise and share more new products we are able to bring you in the future.
