Envisioning a future characterised by greater environmental sustainability and biodiversity, we would like to take a moment to discuss our ongoing and upcoming plans. As we contemplate expanding our apiary, we recognise the importance of enhancing the availability of pollen throughout the landscape.
Our apiary is situated at Cowran Estate, a working farm with an education center and horticultural practices. The estate shares similar values and ethos with us, embracing a holistic and natural perspective on land and practices. Our commitment lies in developing landscape projects that prioritise the well-being of bees and other insects.
To promote biodiversity across the estate, we are actively decoupling ecosystems, considering everything from water sources to the cultivation of pollen-producing native plants and wildflowers.

This approach is vital for restoring hedgerows and establishing new ecosystems within the estate.
We anticipate that cultivating specific plants and edible trees alongside our horticultural endeavours will contribute to increased pollen for our bees and honey production. This year, we plan to initiate a large-scale project surrounding the apiary, focusing on water systems and creating embankments adorned with flowers such as lavender on a significant scale to support bee and native insect populations.

Additionally, we aim to incorporate wildflowers, hedgerow plants, and trees to diversify microclimates, providing essential habitats for wildlife. Throughout the summer months, we will host events, engaging with individuals interested in participating in community and social beekeeping meet-ups. There will be opportunities for those intrigued by beekeeping to experience it firsthand and attend future lessons.

In our commitment to these initiatives, we are also expanding our product offerings. Soon, we will introduce a new range of candles and venture into soap-making. We are enthusiastic about the future and hope you share in our excitement.
Education constitutes a fundamental aspect of our mission, and this commitment extends to leveraging the resources of the education centre situated on the estate.
