Our very own locally produced honey

Located in the heart of the Lake District, our commitment to bees and honey runs deep. Nestled in Pennington near Ulverston, NW Cumbria, our thriving apiary enjoys the scenic countryside. Our local summer honey, a true taste of the area, is a limited delight as our apiary expands.

Responding to high demand and expanding our apiary, we may not always have our own honey fully stocked. However, we take pride in being exclusive distributors of the finest northern honey. Explore the honey category to discover our specially packaged honey from Northern bee farmers.

Honey undergoes natural crystallisation when temperatures dip below 50°F (10°C). The specific temperature at which this occurs varies based on the honey's composition, including the ratio of glucose to fructose and the presence of impurities. It's important to note that crystallisation is a natural process and doesn't indicate spoilage. If your honey crystallises, gently warming it will restore it to a liquid state.

To return to runny honey, it's generally recommended to gently warm it. The ideal temperature is around 95°F to 104°F (35°C to 40°C). Be cautious not to exceed this temperature to preserve the honey's natural enzymes and flavour. You can achieve this by placing the honey container in warm water or using a microwave on a low power setting, stirring intermittently until the crystals dissolve. Avoid overheating, as excessive heat can alter the honey's qualities.
